So here we are with only 364 more usable days until next Christmas! Am I looking forward to it? Sure. A little.
Christmas was fun this year. It was a mad dash to here, there and back yon again, but aside from one little meltdown from Sadie, it was really nice. She was a little stressed out, I think, and besides, who can blame her for wanting to stay home and play with her new toys, and then wanting to stay at my parents and play with her newer toys, and then wanting to stay at my in-laws and play with her NEWEST toys. It's understandable.
Quentin drooled quite a little bit and really seemed to enjoy the little dog, baby-toy thingie that my sister-in-law got him, and he got a few different little playset doo-hickeys too, so I think he came out pretty far ahead.
Sadie got a whole slew of things, most notably what I hope is a complete set of "Littlest Pet Shop" items which she had been assuring me Santa was going to bring her. She also got a couple of different play tunnel / tent apparatuses that she'll get a kick out of, so I think she was pretty pleased with her haul.
Julie's Christmas was a little weird this year. She had already gotten a saddle from her parents and a new dog from me, but I rounded things out with a binder of personal coupons I made so that she can redeem them over the course of the next year different things like Mom's Nights Out and just for things in general so that I can help make her life a little better every day. I figure I'll add things to it like poems and more coupons and letters and stuff over the next year.
My Christmas was sort of funny too. Against all odds, I virtually received nothing but tools in honor of our buying the new house, so I can't say that I got anything really FUN for Christmas, but I'll certainly find use in all of it (though, honestly folks, how many tool box / kits do you all really think I need?) Julie got me some clothes which, while I appreciated the thought, it really reinforces the fact that just because we love each other dearly, our tastes in clothing is completely different. I'd have like a movie or a new book or something, but I know people are intimidated of buying those for me for some reason or another, so I'll just have to go shopping soon on my own!
So, at then end of the day, it was a nice quiet holiday. No complaints on our end.
Merry Holidays and Happy Christmas to you and all yours. More later!
