So Yesterday and Today . . . . .

  • Yesterday, Andy, his daughter Emily, and I went hiking at England-Idlewild Hiking/Biking Trails in Burlington. We spent about 4 hours there and walked a good portion of the available trails. Its a really nice, well kept, and surprisingly in-depth park for being something local. Andy and I have been inspired now to get mountain bikes.
  • Yesterday, Julie and I went out for our 4th Anniversary (technically, it's on Wednesday.) We had way too much dinner at Longhorn, got drinks at Barnes and Noble (Julie bought a short story book on dragons,) had ice cream at Coldstone Creamery and then bought some supplies at Toys R'Us. Also, at Toys R'Us, I bought. . . . . a box set of K'Nex!! And they rock. I love K'Nex and now I can make all kinds of neat-o, supercool carnival rides with my box set. I love it!
  • Today I appropriated my sister-in-law Katie's mountain bike for official Jason purposes. It rides well. NOTE: in the future, if someone ever says to you, "it's just like riding a bike" about something that you may have forgotten to do and now need to do again, please be aware that they actually mean that "just like riding a bike, it's going to be hard as hell for you to remember how to do it." Oh, and they probably mean "You're going to fall off a lot too!"
  • Today I went horseback riding at in-laws' farm. The whole family was out today and various rides were had by all. I rode Classy outside of the arena for the first time today, but this basically really only entailed me riding her in a larger circle AROUND the outside of the arena. It was still nice though. She's pretty level headed and basically just a big dog . . . that could kick my head in. But it's all good.
  • Today I got stung by yellow jackets today. That sucked. I got hit by 2 on one leg, another on the other leg, and then one on my right cheek. The one on the cheek kinda sort of sucks but the others were okay. The funny part was that when I first got stung, I did what any reasonable person would do: I ran. But my glasses fell off as I was running and swatting at my face. This was a fact that I didn't realize until I was inside the basement and everything was blurry. Julie and my father-in-law tried to help me find them but it was no good. They were gone. However, while searching, I did find a rather large snake. So that was nice. And then finally I found my glasses. So now I can see again.

More later . . . .

I would give any number of my current possessions and/or nonessential body parts to see a video of you running for your life while swatting your face. It truly is unfortunate that such a video does not exist.

I must admit I laughed outloud while reading your unfortunate account. I am glad you found your glasses though, were they scratched? When you found the snake, the best ending of THAT comedy would have been if it bit you or something. THAT is how the movies usually do it. Your anniversary sounds really nice, but I don't know what the thing is that you bought from Toys R Us and were so pleased with - something about making rollercoasters or something. Sounds like you had a good weekend though - I have yet to write in my blog...it would be too depressing at this point and I really don't feel like putting all that down on paper. Lets all remain optimists- sound good?? How is your cheek? Good thing you weren't allergic...did you step in a next or something?

Hmmm...no new blogs...you are really slacking. I, however, have posted 2 and you have yet to comment. I am extremely hurt and feeling neglected.
