Well, okay. I feel sorry for Quentin. He's just not catching any breaks here. Not that he is deathly ill or anything of that sort, but it certainly seems like he and Sadie are as different as two children can be.
He's been running a fever for the last day or two and when Julie took him to the doctor we found out that he a) has a pretty good urinary tract infection, b) is anemic, and c) needs to go to a pediatric eye specialist because his pupils aren't coordinated. Now, in and of themselves, these aren't serious issues, but when you consider the colic and the acid reflux along with some constipation problems (really hate adding that here, but let's keep this 100% honest and truthful,) I really can't help but feel that he's just miserable for the time being.
Also (again I'm being honest here) while I can take a fairly "this too shall pass" approach toward the situation, it's starting to take a bit of a toll on Julie. I know she is feeling pretty helpless with him and his situation right now. But don't get me wrong. She's not horribly depressed or anything of that ilk. She's just a little blue when it comes to him.
And sleeping is getting better for us. He was a little lethargic last night which gave us a decent break while he slept. And he is healthy otherwise, and gaining weight far more quickly than Sadie ever did, so I think he's pretty strong all in all.
He's got his meds now and the doctors are watching him every few days. So he'll be fine. But for anyone who saw me leave work a little early yesterday, this is why.

I am glad to hear he is strong and doing well...I feel for Julie, I know how exhausting that can be and if he isn't feeling well so often, that can be so frustrating. Poor little guy. I hope everything is okay with his eyes too, you will have to keep us posted on that. Yes...Sadie was so good with sleeping through the night and everything, you were bound to have more of a challenge this time...you just don't get that kind of luck twice!!! (or ever with my sister - both kids were fussy!!) How is Sadie doing as the Big Sister??? I am sure she is loving it!!!!
Sadie loves being a big sister. She adores him and is extremely into helping us out with him.
She's also become really into us playing with her like SHE's a baby. She likes to pretend we're burping her.
